About

funana.org is an online clearinghouse and directory for Cape Verdean studies. At present, visitors to the site can:

• buy books from the National of Library of Cape Verde,
• study Cape Verdean language, music, and literature and art, and
• research at institutes of higher learning, with scholars, and online.

funana.org is an academic-social engagement initiative created by Carla Martin, a researcher-storyteller studying Cape Verdean language and music and PhD Candidate in African and African American Studies at Harvard University. Her work bridges the fields of social and linguistic anthropology, ethnomusicology, and Creole studies, with an emphasis on the politics of representation and applied scholarship.
