Misá was born in Praia, but immigrated at a young age to Switzerland. She studied art at the School of Fine Arts in Ivory Coast. She has exhibited her work internationally. She directs a non-profit organization in Cape Verde to benefit the Rabelados community, an impoverished group of descendants of maroons in rural Santiago. The organization's projects involve the economic revitalization of the community with funds from UNESCO and donors, as well as art education.
